Thumbs up The Greatest Z8 Meet of all - 2008

This is a very, very advanced heads up to all Z8 owners.

BMW will be the mark of honor at Pebble Beach / Monterey Classics Weekend in 2008.

There will be a great deal of special BMW specific events, including many cars coming from the BMW Museum and Mobile Tradition Collection in Germany for the event. There will also be several, possibly even many of the Z8 Club's cars and owners coming over from Europe for the event too. Of course we will plan some great drives, diversion etc and show them some great US hospitality, but more of those specifics next year.

If you were ever planning on attending the Pebble Beach / Monterey Classics weekend make it 2008.

This spring we will start putting solid plans for '08 together, this post is simply to let you know that for us it will be a much more special year than '07, so incase you were planning to weave this year's event into your schedule as a once in a lifetime trip - wait one more year - 2008 will be really great!

    Greatest Z8 Meet

As a resident of the Bay Area and a docent at the Blackhawk, I would be willing to help organize a drive. On the Monday following Pebble Beach, the Blackhawk holds an open house, and usually does something realting to the featured marque. In fact, we were discussing a drive to dinner at the Blackhawk last weekend.

I went the last time BMW was the featured Marque in the mid-90s and it was amazing.

The had a tent full of racing and vintages BMWs. They brought the Brahbam F1 winning car, plus a bunch of cars from the Museum.

The BMW sponsored dinner was quite an event. They showed films of the racing e9 CSLs, e24s and M1s, with Dieter Quester, Marc Surer, David Hobbs, Sam Posie, etc. doing the commentary. What a hoot!!

Our M6 was one of the "exemplars" that drove on the parade lap around Laguna Seca. It was BMW overload.

Nothing can keep me from being one of 100 Z8s in Monterey. Let's do this!!
