    2001 Z8 #60260 Silver/Black Sold $226,240 @Broad Arrow Amelia Island

Unusual as no sale on the block at $180,000 bid but reported as sold on the Broad Arrow website shortly after.

16,304 miles with performance package installed. Manuals and phone but no mention of the book or other accessories.

The two Amelia Island Z8 sales listed above are encouraging and remind us that BaT isn’t always the only valuation tool.
Addendum: I just discovered that the silver/black car at Broad Arrow Auctions was a No Sale at 180K.

Larry, It’s strange that Hammerprice reports a no sale with a high bid of $180k however Broad Arrow’s website which I linked above reports the car sold at $226,240. Did a deal get done after the block? Or is Broad Arrow misreporting?

I just looked at Broad Arrow’s site and sure enough the silver/black car was listed as sold for 226K. I suspect that is probably accurate (including buyer’s premium)

Broad Arrow amended the result to 202K. With their 12% buyers premium that brings it to 226K. Not bad for a 16,000 mile silver/black car.

The funny thing is that there are a number of spikes on sales prices but this car (before the buyer premium) was probably no more than 5% above the average. Of course I paid a little bit more for mine. A guy I know here in Houston recently sold his Topaz Crema on BAT for $375,000 which was a nutty price especially given that he only owned it a short time and bought the car for about 2/3's of that price.

My 6000 mile silver/black car with all the goodies and the performance package cost me 243K last April. While that seemed like a fair price at the time I doubt that I could get that price in today’s market. That’s life…
I do consider the buyer’s premium to be part of the selling price.

I think there may be a seller’s premium as well. The auction houses apparently do quite well.
