Seems like the market has softened a little of late.
I dunno, that car is pretty much a clone of the PERFECT 11,000 mile 2002 Z8 Black- Crema/Black that I bought this past June 2022 for $212,000. Granted, I was very happy with the price I paid. I thought the $260k price on that one was pretty strong. I agree overall that the market has been/is softening, but I don't think that particular sale demonstrates that.
I think that it sold for 233K plus the 12% auction house fee. I agree that 260K for this car is a strong number.
Looks like Sotheby’s fee is a lot more at 26% (Barrett-Jackson I believe is the 12%). It is also my understanding that the sales price published would be the hammer price prior the fees. Not 100% sure though. Maybe someone here can confirm or correct me.

I just checked the results at Sotheby’s and they reported that the selling price on 1-26-23 (before buyer’s fee) was $232,500. That would imply that their fee for the buyer is about 12%. I believe that they also get a fee from the seller.
