    Looking for Accessories

Just purchased a 2001 Z8. It is missing the first aid kit and telephone. Any ideas how to find these items.

Ebay is the only place I've found one of the phones. My understanding is that the first aid kit is not specific to the Z8, so any kit from that era of BMW could be appropriate. And I could be wrong.

you can find the emergency kit for about $20 to $30 on ebay. There are several on ebay , now. You can also find a cell phone on ebay , but it might take a little longer.

Larry; I have an extra motorola timeport cell phone. It is in fair condition. It has a crack somewhere. Email me at [email protected] and I'll send you some pictures. I paid fifty dollars plus tax and shipping. It 's yours for my cost.

I haven't been able to find them, so where exactly are you referring to when you say BMW?

With BMW I mean a authorized dealership. At the links you can find the numbers of the car cover and the hardtop stand.

The window protector is not available anymore, sorry my mistake. But on the moment the Z8 club has plans to fabricate a new version of the protector.

I guess I needed to clarify...I only shop US parts providers, which includes US BMW dealerships. The cost for international shipping is pretty outrageous. Since the link provided does not show the car cover, it's unclear it's an original Z8 car cover (with Z8 logo) or just a car cover that fits the Z8. Same goes for the hardtop stand...no picture so how to know if it's the original Z8 stand or just like any aftermarket stand that the hardtop will fit on (like the one I'm currently using).

Thanks Ton - searching on the part number for the HardTopWagen 82157037901 does get results from the US parts guys. And it is the OEM stand.

Sorry for the confusion. The links I used are from a German parts supplier but the exploded view is original BMW software. If you go to your BMW parts supplier they probably use the same software. Furthermore you cannot order in the EU: they are not permitted to ship to the US, so in this case shipping is not an issue ;-) I ordered my car cover and stand from the same software and they are the right OEM parts. The parts numbers are the right one's. E.G compare them with the cover of a Z3/4 than you the Z8 cover is different from the others

Only $8 more, but shipping is free and they've never charged me sales tax, which can be significant on a $500 item.

Never did buy the 2001 but did in fact just purchase a 2002, 6000 mile two owner silver/black Z8. All the goodies(coffee table book, window sticker, etc) except the phone. Should arrive next week. While other colors seem to bring a premium price I always found silver/black to be my favorite.
