All of a sudden, my 2000 Z8 top started making a thunk when it was raised, and then started hitting the headliner a bit forward of the clamp openings, instead of stopping 3-4" above the headliner for me to pull it down. Took it to the local FL dealer and he said something about the straps not taut (has not called me back yet) and then quoted a $6500 repair to make it function properly. Does anybody have any insight into this problem and/or the cost?
