    No longer a teenager

My Z8 is now 20 years old this month. I was out in it this past weekend & stopped at a farmer market to pick up a few things. When I came out, A guy in an Audi S8 was admiring my car. He asked me if it was new, I told him it was a 2000 model, He could not believe it. Had a good laugh. I am surprised the BMW corporate is not doing anything to commemorate the 20 year milestone on their halo car.
I'll take her out and sing happy birthday on some nice twisty country roads.

One of the best gifts is that BMW hasn't tried to replicate the car over those 2 decades.
    2000 Red over black
heavily modified for performance. Although, not to the level of GM's car

Congratulations Dkat ! Mine will turn 20 next year. Had a similar experience when I took the Z8 to (imho) one of the ultimate car events in Europe; Te Goodwood Festival of Speed (UK) a few years ago. Went there with a friend who als owns a Z8. We met a group (young) Porsche owners from London (local Porsche Club). They did not recognize the Z8 nor did they recognize our (dutch) license plates. We told them that we were driving a BMW concept. They (really) believed us. After about 10 minutes we told them the truth. Z8 : timeless

Oh, my goodness—I missed her birthday!

Well, rats. I just looked up AH60664 and discovered a build date of February 21, 2001. I'm sorry, Nancy Drew, I missed yer birthday! I believe I owe you a triple-digit celebration nevertheless.

I have now been made aware that we are still in the year 2020. So Nancy Drew's twentieth won't occur for a few months.

Which did not keep me from celebrating with a triple-digit bug splat!

    True and great points Norcal!

Yes,t hat era has drawn to a close and the Z8's position in history is solidified.

I was at a cars and coffee today talking to a Gentleman whose gorgeous Maserati Ghibili was parked next to Bruce Myers 275 and said, after decades of car experience, how the Z8 is the one car that truly ticks all boxes: Classic E-type/507 looks, concept car interior, manual gearbox, four cam V8, lightweight chassis, at least mechanical parts are readily available, lots of interior storage space and more trunk pace than most any exotic I can think of.
