How to replace a headlight assembly

I looked around, haven't found a "how to". Is there a straightforward instruction outline for this procedure? I want to change out the whole unit, not just a bulb.

Hmmm, that's not Z8 specific but might (or might not?) be adequate. Thanks.

That may have not been correct link - see this instead:https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...dlight/AVwyuBN

Here is the source document that is posted elsewhere on this board. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e52-z8-roa/

I replaced both of my headlights several years ago due to fogging. Not a difficult job, removing the inner fender liner consumes the most time, if I recall correctly.

I enjoy reading that you did the work yourself. I find it rewarding to work on my cars too after a day of meetings and sending business emails.

Although not generally the case with the Z8, there are YouTube videos out there covering practically any automotive or household maintenance/repair project. Watching someone else walk through a repair usually reveals the technique, sequencing, and hidden tricks or obstacles that give me the confidence to undertake a project. Though I stay away from doing a deep dive into mechanical projects, the E39 M5 has the same engine/transmission as the Z8 and there is a ton of useful information on M5Board.com on DIY maintenance and repair stuff.
