    For those of us in LA - oh to dream of this ...

    Far be it for me to extol the virtues of another photographer considering Andrews HUGE skill, but this was cool to watch
    What fun we could have, of course with bonus points for getting the skateboarders

    I suspect it's done in post production by combining several images of the empty areas to create a single 'plate' against which the desired action can then be stripped into and played over. Of course much of it would have been shot on early Sunday mornings to help make it as simple as possible, but even for a big budget film closing freeways is somewhere between expensive and impossible.

    I figured the same thing... Shoot from a fixed position then stitch together the "empty" freeway. But the immediate area around the skater must have been car free? Or is it possible to identify the skater and have the computer strip it frame by frame? Cool effect.
