Thread: Terry's Radiator Grille Mesh 'Leaf Catcher'

Terry's Radiator Grille Mesh 'Leaf Catcher'

These shots show the radiator mesh protectors that Terry made the patterns for on Carlos' car.

Carlos made them from wire mesh he picked up at Home Depot, cut to the pattern and then powder coated black before installing.

If there is enough interest I may try to find someone to make up a few sets, as I'm not handy enough to do it myself!

How do the upper grilles come out? I don't see and screws to loosen like the lower grille. It looks like they just "pop out" but I don't want to break anything trying that!

The black part of the top ones do click in-pop out, once you remove them you'll see the screws to remove the chrome surrounds.

If you're interested, there are more pics of the screens which can be found at the top of the Forum page at: Community/Albums/Jaws Album. My screens are chromed, but the flat black that Carlos has is nearly invisible if you don't want the extra attention in the grill area.
    Thanks,
    Terry

Perhaps folks expressed interest for these on another thread. I for one would be interested in a set. Lots of trees in MI and I love autumn driving!

Plastic mesh would be better since there is a risk of stone chips on painted mesh.
