    LED parking lights

Always wondered why the color of our parking lights was 'yellow' (normal halogen bulb) when our Xenon beams where 'blue'. I ordered high power small socket 'blue' LED's and tried them today. What do you guys think? (right: original, left: LED)

These are SMD 5 LED's, color-temperature 6000-8000K, because the LED has 5 separate directions of the lightbeam, it has a more equal lightbeam than most LED's.

Replacement takes about 1 minute (parking/city light holder is mounted on the 'radiator-side' of headlightunit)

High power quality LED's with small socket were available in 'blue white' (the one i chose) and 'yellow white'. Costs of 2 LED's; 15,00 euro (about 20 dollars)

Over here in the Netherlands it is also called city (or parking) light. Some people (like me..) use these lights at dusk/dawn. After sunset it is prohibited to only have your citylights on, they should then be used together with 'normal' lights.

    Technical specs (Euro):

    BA9S connector
    1 LED (5 units): 90mA
    1.28 Watt at 14.2 Volt

They do fit a little oddly, but I do like the way they look, here is a direct comparison, old left new right.

Installed mine yesterday... they do seem to want to pop back out. I tried rotating them 180 degrees, this seemed to help as both are now fairly snug in their holders. Hope this helps for others, especially you Andrew since you encountered the same problem. I love the look of the LED's. I did notice a reduced light output compared to the original light bulbs. I don't think this matters, since they're not used for improving night vision.

Just put the bulbs in. Took one minute each. Teenage son who talks mostly in grunts lately, could not stop talking about how much better they look. (He still thinks I will let him drive the car some day!)

I tried the blue LEDs and really like them. Lets see if the cops have an issue with these

I like them!! I'd say that is a pretty cool mod, but if the cops see them I'm sure you'll get some grief!

I do very little nighttime driving, but I agree probably a no go in the long run.

Put the white ones in yesterday. Look much better than the warm/yellow halogen!
    CHEAP!
    Great call!
