Wow fantastique!!!
FWIW I think Chubb also provides significantly better service should there be a claim - they may require you to have home insurance with them though - unsure of their policies these days.
I have often wondered if there might be parts from some of our fine cars that have met an unfortunate demise... anyone aware of a parts inventory somewhere for scrap cars?
As per other thread - when blinking rapidly, I found that one of the rears had failed. Fronts were fine. They replaced both rears (I did both just to be safe since BMW Canada was assisting with the...
Hi,
Mine was just the back but I had both rears replaced... total cost to me was $2,500 as they did a split between BMW Canada and me. This required phoning BMW Canada, and arguing for it. Brad...
That is awesome, Ed. Take lots of pictures!
car shows have yet to open up here :-(
Keith,
I had everything done at BMW Store on Burrard - Brad Dekoster is the Service Manager.

PMd you some details on my tail light repair, Keith... feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.Patrick
Turns out my files are at my other place, so will locate them early next week.
Ya, that is what they ended up doing for me... However, the dealer spent a good 2 hours measuring prior to doing it to ensure the frame was still perfect. Not sure if that is part of the 7 hours or...
Haven't had a chance yet but should be able to look through the file later this aft... will email you when I find them.
Keith - that is the first sign of the turn signal going unfortunately. I am not aware of a fix, other than replacement and each side is about $4k. However, as I previously noted, I was able to work...
Awesome... hard to stay away from the Z8 experience! Glad you have come back and wish you many amazing drives ahead
Mine is completely stock, other than the PP. It was installed at the BMW store. They also switched out the headlights as they were foggy, along with taillights as they eventually started going. These...
Thanks... it is a hoot! Such a different beast than the Z8... I almost bought a Targa GTS last year but that didn't work out and I gotta say, happy I held out to get my hands on this car.
The Z8 is at our other place, so went for a spirited 911 drive up the Sea to Sky!

In Vancouver and always up for a drive up the Sea to Sky! In fact, heading to Squamish for lunch today!Patrick
Vancouver... good luck and let me know how you make out!

Hi Keith,
We are in the same place! I would say it depends what you want to get done. BMW Store has an awesome Z8 expert - older German gentlemen - so if it is core stuff, I might consult with...
Thanks Andrew - glad my question got your creative juices flowing!
Pac Coast is an amazing road - a few years ago, I had the benefit of riding along it on an e-bike when those landslides had...
Hi,
As mentioned earlier, here is a pic of our garage - right now, the leading idea is to deck it out with awesome block prints (ie large picture split into rectangles) of pics of great drives...
That is stunning, Ed! Looks like a place worthy of your vehicles!
I will take a pic of our garage and post - ideas welcome!
I likely mentioned before, but we got lucky when we bought this place...
Hi Ed,
Hope you and the family are well! I am starting a cosmetic refurb of my garage finally and was wondering if you have any updated pics on your end. Also, anyone come across some cool garage...
Hi All,
I had posted this in maintenance but wanted to call it out here to get more eyes on it - http://www.bmwz8.us/forum/problems-solutions-long-term-maintenance/20-year-maintenance-5109.html...
Thanks Skip - are there any opinions on fluid types? I called my local dealer and they don't have stock for the diff oil BMW currently recommends so I was going to get the Redline from Amazon... the...
Hi all,
Well, my car is officially 20 years old! Still looks great and drives amazingly. To keep it that way, I was going to undertake a summer project of completing all the maintenance bits I...
As an unconventional suggestion - you could get one of those pulley systems - e.g....
Mes félicitations Benoit!! As others have stated, please drive it as much as you can - an amazing machine that is meant to be enjoyed regularly! I have owned mine for 8 years now, and I still smile...
Hi Bob, One other thought - I have found that Canadian dealers seem to somehow have access to parts that US dealers do not sometimes, even though everything comes from Germany. Perhaps get your...
Wow! looks amazing... and shiny! I have never done a ceramic coating and was considering it but have one question - My car has the inevitable speck from some random rock over the years... is it worth...
Thanks for sharing... wow, that was exhausting to listen to though! no wonder I can't watch any of my kids' youtube shows!
Who you calling old?! :-)
eeek, no kidding. I don't think BMW will even check it for frame alignment unless you are aiming to put one in, will they?
When I bought my car in 2013, the dealer had replaced the tires with new, OEM run flats. I know many here dislike these tires, but I have kept them as I haven't minded them, and of course, they were...
Wow... what a talent you have for capturing amazing visual moments in time!
I *think* that I like it - will wait to see it on a car - but definitely looks more modern in my opinion, while retaining the iconic look.
Stick one of these on our cars and people will think the car is a concept car!
