In typical BMW fashion, I suspect p/ns are going to be different. I found years ago that e32 Euro sport and e31 use the exact same Brembo brake system, but alas all different p/ns. This is just one...

While the Z8 is all unique on the top side, I have found that the bottom side is all off the BMW parts bin. Brakes came from the e53 X5 and e38 750, suspension bits -- i.e. control arms, stabilizer...
Hope you, Lisa and the kids had a great Thanksgiving. It’s been a real privilege to get to know your great family.
I’d think that given the comparatively low numbers of black/red compared the ever present silver/black on BaT, this car would fetch $165-$185. Now condition is another issue.
This made for compelling reading while on the stair master. Thank you for the S2 Z8 tour!!
I find the mileage extremely interesting. I picked up my car on European delivery, so I know the dealer didn’t/couldn’t drive it around for giggles and kicks, but had 13 miles on the clock. I was...
U.S. dealers are terrible at ordering certain parts. Try Maximillian Importing; they have the most direct line to BMW Classic and see what they say.
Nice Ed. Wish I could have joined this year...maybe next year for a 20-year Z8 reunion.
Weirdly interesting that this Z8 doesn’t have the performance package...
Enjoy in good health Joe; quite a ride!
All coolant hoses, and I mean all, should be replaced at least every 10 years along with the expansion tank and drive belts. I’ve done this twice on my 2003 Z8 with less than 10k miles.
Nice!!! GLWS.
Some at BMW and Porsche will have to explain to me some day why they thought that rubberized material was a good idea.
Skip, I sense a lot of Z8 negativity on BaT.
I have this magazine in my private stash, but came across the web article by accident today.

For sure, we're overdue. BTW, NorCal is going to be contacting you for an adventure we're planning; watch out!
Whoa, nice! How many cars will it fit?
Andrew, I still have a photo of my speedo just north of 135 mph top down somewhere near Templeton in one of our many Spring Fling drives.
I have tried to stick with my original plan of putting between 500 and 1,000 miles on the car annually, but have been closer to the lower number. Just over 10K miles now.
I saw this car last Sunday at the Petersen at the BaT display and it is very rough!
Awesome Tony. Wish many happy miles!!!

Thanks Tony. GT3 is a serious machine. The wife only approved if Cabriolet, ergo the Turbo, otherwise it would have been a GT3.
Norcal, the feeling is mutual my friend.
Thank you guys. It’s quite the beast.

Just noticed that the Club (Germany) is planning some event between 09/12/19 and 09/15/19 for the 20th Anniversary celebration. Anyone know what the plan is and is anyone from the U.S. planning on...
Best of luck Ed!!!!
Somebody should tell the folks at Mecum that Z8s are roadsters, not “convertibles.” Mecum is just the wrong auction house for this car. Much more focused on American iron.
Very nice coffee table book. I bought one back when it came out, signed by the legend himself!
The Hotel Pacific is pricey, but in Downtown Monterey where all the action is. It also has a self park underground garage. If you’re going to go to car week...
For anyone contemplating a trip to Monterey this August (21st through 26th), I've spoken with Todd at the Hotel Pacific, which was our "headquarters" in 2016 and if we get a block of five or more...
Congrats Tony. Looooooooooong time!!!
Would have to be because there is nothing special about this car otherwise.
Please, keep documenting the process. Looking good!
We'll know soon because I'm about to order it. ECS has it too https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/81_47_0_026_305/ and my parts guy says it's available out of Germany.
Andrew, I personally saw this car a couple of weeks ago and it’s stunning. I’d say as good a condition as I’ve seen.
A similar mileage Z8 with a more “plain Jane” color combo fetched $440k in Monterey this summer.
Like I thought, the Z8 topped out at $255k. BaT is the wrong venue for this car.
I’m thinking the Jobs’ car would fetch 10 times that estimated price. With all the Appleheads out there...
