That one seems very much like a more modern version of the stock wheel. I personally, am a bit old school. I think the old alpina look could be awesome.
Dieter! So glad to “See” you! Glad you are doing well and still z8ing. I sold mine a couple years ago to buy a commercial property. In the fullness of time, I think the stratus/crema is my favorite....
No.... they absolutely did not “fix” the strut towers after 2000... there was no engineering changes, and I know of examples that suffered the problem after 2000 model yr. for sure.
Follow your heart Andrew... like you would do anything else! Times change, priorities shift. Our early days of Z8 magic were a point in time. Best time of my life, but change is the only thing that...
The z8 came standard with a leather pouch for the key.
And... ceramic under the film may/will effect adhesion.
Ed, if I recall, Vesuvio was the 2000 celebration color. At the time, and perhaps still, it is a chromatic{?} color-shifting paint, turning from eggplant purple to olive green in the highlights....
Ed, yes, the Spyder is as Andrew said, about the perfect Porsche fun car. Not the fastest, but plenty fast for sure. Totally visceral, and beautiful to boot! I’m closing in on 5 years and 11,000 mi....
Beautiful! Congratulations.
Is that targa “mint green” in English? Cool, rare color! Welcome to the forum. I too have porsches!
Omg! That interior is hideous!
I agree with Patrick. We get to decide what risk we can accept. Every time we take to the freeway there is a chance of death. Only about 35,000 deaths per year In the US, but significant. And nobody...
I agree with both of you! Great price... could be heading home. Edit: great price for seller. Must have been good for buyer too.
Yes, funny. BMW knew they never could follow the Z8. And now the era has passed. Electric, hybrid blah, blah, blah. Long live th s62, fire breathing NA v8!
Porsche is a strong addiction... got to the point that it’s all I can drive. Miss my Z8 though. Will always be a big part of who I am. Mostly the trips and relationships associated with the car. Best...
What? Totaled? But it has the PP!
It’s my understanding, that flatspotting while racing is a result of locking up the brakes and scrubbing a flt spot onto the the tire. This will get worse and worse as when threshold braking, the...
The run flats are hard and stiff when new.... 7 years later? Ha! Time for new for sure.
All that wheel and suspension, with no PP😵
So cool Andrew! Talk about social distancing!
Hey, I visit nearly every day! While I did sell my car, this community will always be part of who I am. Some of my most cherished memories and relationships live here.
Yea... still sucks!
Ewww.... horrible... just horrible! Yes the logo can move forward, but the new design creates more visual problems with no upside.
Would have been interesting to see it with a rear quarter window... seems odd without it. Photoshop?
In the fullness of time, that coupe sure looks good!
Don Johnson? Ha! Not my thing.
Andrew, more like a gt3rs, perhaps gt2RS (haven’t driven one) but much more exotic to see, touch, pilot. All active roll management as I recall, as in none. Not remotely similar to the gt4. Muuuuch...
That mp4 12c was a steal! Amazing car.
Thank you Andrew. May this year bring you joy and comfort. Peace on earth is a stretch!
Ha! No accounting for taste! Old Aston almond green was what I always wanted. Perhaps with something darker than crema, but definitely not Arizona. More bomber jacket brown... with all the...
Those must be my friends! I agree for street use... and no dust!
Beautiful, never heard of these. How many were made? Andrew, was this like Evies car? Don’t remember “midnight blue” Arizona leather?
I will say, most of my friends who track hard, swap them out for steel as they are too expensive to trash on track. $14,000 for Porsche rotors and pads!
At least the price is right. Not sure how they look.
I’d agree. Color, miles... right price give or take 10k.
Ask Ed! He has an SLS
Exactly, in fact, sometimes the iconic “look” of an era is an amalgamation of elements that never or rarely existed at the time!
Funny how the things that define an era are only visible in the rear view mirror. It’s the elements that stand the test of time in being uniquely of that time. So much of any era is just normal crap,...
Your right Ted, far better than the 507. 20/20 hindsight always yields a better result.
