I recently applied the 3M clear bra product to my car. I was disappointed by the installation, as wrinkles were left at various points of the application. In an attempt to find another installer to replace the application, I came across Lance Pugh from www.Clear-Pro.com. He installs throughout southern California. He said that he could reapply the same 3M product, but he recommended "VentureTape" as being a superior product. I was skeptical as 3M is a much more established brand. He then suggested that he apply a piece of the VentureTape next to the 3M product on my car and watch it over a couple of weeks. I was very impressed. My car is Topaz (darker blue) and the recently applied 3M product had an orange peel appearance to it. One didn't have to look hard to notice that there was a clear bra applied. (I suspect that the 3M bra is more apparent on a darker car.) The Venture Tape next to the 3M is almost invisible. It has the same smooth finish and luster as the uncoated paint surface.
I asked Lance to replace the 3M product with the VentureTape and am very happy with the appearance. There was a minor touch up that Lance freely came out to take care of. He guarantees satisfaction and the product has a lifetime warranty. Here is a final nice feature. Lance put together a price of only $500 for the application which includes the front bumper, hood and fenders - a special discounted price that he is offering to our BMWZ8.US group. I was very happy to get it for that price, as I had other quotes for one to three hundred more.

Thanks for the recommendation. I went ahead and arranged the installation (next Thursday). Will let you know how it goes.

It's best if Lance does it. He had a sidekick who had some difficulty applying mine, before Lance took over.
I hope you like it.

Job was completed and I am perfectly happy with the outcome. I highly recommend Lance and his product to those in the area.

Does anyone know if there is someone in the Phoenix area that has and installs this product. I have several "chips" and "flakes" of paint on the nose of my 2002 which I need to repaint - and hopefully then protect. There are a lot of trucks here in Phoenix and a lot of dirt roads... hence my problem.

For Tony and Ted,
What is the condition of your paint at the front of your respective cars.
I have read that for this product to look good the paint needs to be flawless.
Correct ?

My hood and fenders were nearly flawless, but the front bumper had some pitting.
The application looked fine.

Flawless in my case too. I had one visible rock chip on the tip of the hood which I took care of by (1) touch-up paint, (2) 2000 grid sand paper glued to the tip of a pencil, and (3) polish and wax.
