A Story Gone Right
Some of you know of the trouble that I had with the purchase of my earlier Z8. When I went back to the dealership, there were some tense times initially – each side claiming that they were correct.
I know would like to report that there has been a happy ending without any suits. Much of the credit for that goes to Dana Caldwell who stepped from his duties as Service Manager at Peter Pan there to handle this case. As others have noted in the past, Dana is a shining light in the BMW dealership service network. He is an enthusiast and understands our appreciation for our cars. He melds a reasonable judgement with practical experience. Importantly, he takes pride in his relationship with his Z8 owners.
He oversaw the handling of the various parts recently on my new Z8 and the results have been outstanding. Matt Carver was the master technician there who did most of the work. I followed as he expertly installed the Performance Package and Alpina conversion and contacted the supplying companies for additional information when installing the Bluetooth and Dice. It took some adjustment here and there, but they took the extra steps to satisfy a rather particular owner.
I can only say that if it is possible to send your car to San Francisco for service, there is no better place than Peter Pan that I can recommend.
