I had the honour of meeting up with Jürgen, the president of the European club, and his wife Sylvi while they were in the US. As well as being a delightful meeting it really sunk home how much time and effort Jurgen spends running the club. His volunteer hours may outweigh the number of hours of his work! As well as providing a venue for events, an avenue to meet fellow enthusiasts, and support (in numbers) to liase with BMW over issues like the 'Performance Package', the club will serve in similar ways with future issues that may arise.

The club was clearly instrumental in getting BMW to come to deal with the frame issue.

I would like to encourage everyone who has not already joined to do so. I believe it will serve us all well in the long run.

Finally, a belated best of the New Year to everyone. I am hoping to make it to Italy this year. Maybe will see you there.

Dave, I can only second your excellent remarks.

The work that especially Jurgen invests into the Club has dramatically changed their lives, both influencing the professional as well as the private side.

Ditto here, the Club is so much more than I could ever have imagined any enthusiast club being, and Jürgen has given so much of himself to making it such a great success. There isn't another owner's group in the BMW family like the Z8 Club, a real 'one world' club pulling together owners from all over the planet. If you aren't a member you should be as together we stand as a united voice, and that will make it much easier to keep our cars in tip-top shape with BMW's support going forward.

Having twice made the trip to Europe for Z8 Club events I am in awe of their ability to plan and organize things on a scale I can hardly imagine - we have a lot to do for the Z8 Monterey trip to meet the standard of those wonderful adventures!

the other Z8 officers have made our lives better. Another thanks to Andrew, as from the day I found this site -- I have met so many wonderful people the world over -- who knew the day we bought our Z8s that we would have made such wonderful friends as a result.

So, Thank you Jurgen and Thank you Andrew and Thanks too to the members here and abroad -- without you, NONE of this enjoyable experience would be possible!!

In a nutshell the more US members the club has the better supported our car will be in the future. If you plan to keep your car please join, it is well worth while, not just for the future parts and service info, but also for the wonderful events shown here.
