Just wanted to share my installation of 3M's new generation clear paint protection film using an Xpel authorized installer in north Houston.

I had the rocker panels on the Z8 removed and repainted and the film was installed prior to returning them to the car.

The front bumper was removed and repainted and completely covered with the protection film.

I added film to the hood and the fenders.

The result is my Z8 can now be driven with minimal bug stains and paint chip hassles.

The film disappears on this silver car and the installation was top notch. The installer explained that the film technology continues to improve which makes installation and the end result more outstanding. The bumper and the rocker panels are the most invisible. The lines on the hood can be seen but you have to be looking for them. I am glad I had them done. * Highly recommended*

Prior to having them done, I was inundated with constant paint chips and repair and always worried about getting them whenever I took the car out. Now I drive with a lot more peace.

The work was so well done that on Monday, I am returning the 540I to have it's paint protection Kit removed and replaced with the latest technology.

thought you'd be able to see something, (the hood), it is invisible. The rest are all invisible. All you see is your car (LoL). Which is great.

See http://www.xpel.com to get the pricing on the kits. Mine went beyond the Kit and was negotiated based on the amount of work I brought the body shop.

I paid $2900 to paint both fenders, all four wheels, rocker panels, front bumper, hood and to install the kit on the bumper, fenders, rocker panels and hood.

I loved the work so much, last night I took the Z8 out for her first ride in the rain. It poured and she just performed. What a car. Now I can drive with so much more peace of mind.

I had a Clear Bra installed on my car a few years ago. Here is the link below on the guys who did it.

http://www.premiermobilegroup.com/index.shtml

They are from northern california but travel all over and usually try to get several jobs in a certain city to do at one time. I don't remember what i paid...i seam to recall it was between $350- $600. They did the front bumper, headlights , partial fenders, and partial hood. There overall work was very good. The only thing i can say bad about a clear bra is that there is a very slight haze if you try to wax it. Other than that it is virtually invisible unless you actually looking for it to the extent that no one has ever made a comment about it.

My car has the 3M film on the front bumper, 1/2 hood, and rockers. After four years, some of the edges have lost their seal, and dirt has penetrated about 1/8 inch under the film in round patterns. I'm afraid that any attempt to clean or "goo-gone" the edges will make things worse. Any ideas less involved than removing and reapplying?
