I have just been quoted £540 for a new internal mirror with the auromatic dipping feature. Mine seems to have delaminated and is difficult to see through. I looked at the BMW OEM site and its about the same price in dollars (i.e. $540) and I have the feeling that BMW UK are taking advantage.
Does anyone have a Euro spec mirror that they would like to sell or know of someone breaking a car.
Also does anyone know of a part supplier in Europe / US who sells this item cheaper please?
kind regards
Ron

My mirror has done the same thing. Shouldn't have for a car that spends most of its time in a garage. I am going to see if I can get it covered by my extended warranty as it is a power mirror.

under warranty, including mine. I would imagine that they are very well aware of the problem and would extend a "courtesy" if asked (very nicely). Since this item is a piece of required safety equipment, mentioning a next step of filling out an NHTSA recall investigation form could follow a refusal.

Sadly my car is an imported car into the UK from Bahrain and has no warranty that I know of and again because I am in the UK NHTSA doesnt work here.

utterly disappointed that my mirror has also delaminated. no warranty here either but appreciate the sage advise re approach with BMW.
perhaps a coincidence but my mirror went the same day that both of my key's remote functions stopped working. Alarm light also flickers as if shorting.
At least I don't appear to have a structural problem yet!

I forgot to say that I spoke to a local garage reference the mirror. Not even a BMW specialist - I gave him the part number and he quoted £360 - Guess what the BMW dealer then dropped his price to £355!!
Shame that it has to be this way, but I will now do this for every part of any value for the car. I gave the local garage something for his trouble and he said he would be happy to do it again.

By everyone I can. Just getting cool enough to take the car out for drives again. I have 2 extended warranties. First attempt will be dealer good will. Then if that fails, then I will try the others.
