Dear BMW Z8 Owners from around the world!
Over the past weeks we have had several reports of frame damage to the BMW Z8 and our highly valued and much appreciated representative of NA Andrew Macpherson got all the information out to you already in the other threads on this board.
The situation for all of us Z8 enthusiasts is comparable to being betrayed in a relationship, in a way thats how we feel about our cars.
We are tracing this issue very intensely and have already passed all the information we have on to BMW AG in Munich. Their specialists are investigating and analysing this problem very seriously. We are waiting for a first statement from BMW AG at the moment!
So far we dont have any reliable numbers as to the frequency or the scope and the consequences to be expected from this damage.
We have sent a letter on this issue to all of our members. Simultaneously we ask you, all BMW Z8 owners around the world, to inspect your vehicles and inform us if your car has the damage or not. This is very important in order to get a valuable data base because strength in numbers is the key to a quick fix. We will collect your feedback and, keeping your anonymity in mind, pass it on to BMW AG in Munich in order to support them in their ongoing investigation and analysis.
The feedback forms can be obtained and downloaded on the Frame Damage Survey Poll thread on this board, please do download it, fill it in and send, fax or email it to us (email: Technik@Z8-Club.de), whether you are a Club member or not. Naturally all data will be kept confidential, but it will really help us in giving BMW AG a clear picture of the situation.
We would like you to know that we are doing everything we can to help BMW Z8 owners around the world to protect our investment in this wonderful car.
As soon as we will get any information from BMW AG in Munich we will release it on this board and also on our website www.Z8-Club.de (http://www.Z8-Club.de).<O></O>
