This is the TV ad (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/Z8_007_ad.mov) that launched the Z8 in the USA, made by FALLON MCELLIGOTT.

This fun clip (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/BMWAG_Z8_promo.wmv) was obviously made during the photo shoots of all the official launch and press pictures (http://bmwz8.us/htmlL/officialx_1.php), so I think it must be an official BMW film.

Some other Z8 spots, all of which are all larger files, so you should Control-click (Mac) or right-click (PC) to download and run from your desktop to enjoy them fully.

Z8 at the Ring, a ride in Dieter's 550hp Z8 - 170MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/DietersRing.wmv)

Z8 at Buttonwillow Raceway - 50MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/z8BW.mpeg)

Z8 through the Corckscrew - 10MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/z8_corkscrew.mpeg)

Z8's at the Texas Motorsport Ranch, Lead-follow 1 - 15MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/TMSR_1.mov)

Z8's at the Texas Motorsport Ranch, Lead-follow 2 - 19MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/TMSR_2.mov)

Z8's at the Texas Motorsport Ranch, Open Session - 24MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/TMSR_3.mov)

Orcatek's 'Back to the Drawing Board' video - 39MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/Back2Draw.wmv)

Orcatek's 'Meet In The Middle' video - 82MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/meetinmiddle.wmv)

Z8 being put through it's paces in the rain and the sun for a German TV show 'Motorvision'. It's in German - 23MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/bmwz8_de)

This quirky little clip (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/An_odd_couple.wmv) featuring an odd couple is only 3.8MB.

These are the best reference clips I've found of the 'Ring for those of you who might be headed to Germany to try it. They are large files so you should download them, and watch them at home, and on the plane, to help memorize the track. You can well see why it is such a challenging track from these clips, so be careful out there!

The 'Ring in a Porsche GT2 race car - 70MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/ring_1.wmv)

The 'Ring in an M3 GTR race car - 53MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/m3_gtr.wmv)

The 'Ring in Ruf's 'Yellowbird' - 13MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/lap1.wmv)

The 'Ring in, on and around Ruf's 'Yellowbird' - 12MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/lap2.wmv)

The 'Ring from a road car on an open day - 36MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/ring_2.wmv)

A brief lap of Laguna Seca;

Laguna Seca (seen from a Porsche) - 22MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/lagunaseca.mpeg)

A stunning look of the Pikes Peak rally course.

The Peak - 66MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/Pikes.mpg)

A thrilling lap of the Bathurst track in NSW, Australia.

Bathurst (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/Elise_in_Oz.wmv)

These ads are some of the best automotive clips I've seen, so I thought I'd put them up for fun.

Desert Speed - 10MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/Desert.mpeg)

Ferrari & Shell - 16MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/ferrari.wmv)

Corvette - 12MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/Corvette_fantasy.mov)

Saab - long but fun - 32MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/saab.asf)

Trunk Monkey - 3MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/TrunkmonkeyAd.mpeg)

The Pigeon - 1MB (http://www.bmwz8.us/movies/Pigeon.mpeg)

Lastly here are a couple of little Quicktimes from T.W.I.N.E of 007 with the Z8.

I'd say two shots of vodka (in order to watch - not to drive)!!! What a reality check - I will slow down as you never know what is behind the next corner.

I just viewed the Top Gear videos again of the "new Elise" and Alpina. At the end of each show "The Stig" drives each of the cars on the track for times. Jeremy Carlson is amazed that the Elise does the lap in 1:35. The Alpina, which he abhors, is driven through the lap in 1:29.

Did anyone else notice that the bottom of the front air dam is the same color as the car? Not black!

Here is a link to a short fun video taken from an E36 on the Vegas track. You can start at about 1 minute in if you want to skip the early part

Ah, the song of the Eisenmann....

It's always great to see the Z8 dance around the track!

As much as people loved the car - probably the most common comment was on the sound. The mufflers were worth it !
