View Full Version : "The Ultimate Z8 Music Playlist"

I've become so used to my iPod over the last few years that I take it for granted that, while in my car, I have hundreds of songs at my fingertips. However, as a new Z8 owner, and currently having to settle for the stock stereo and CD changer, I find I'm having to carefully select the music I would like to hear while driving. So, if it hasn't already been done I'd like some suggestions for "The Ultimate Z8 Music Playlist".

Imagine you're driving in your favorite car, on your favorite drive, listening to your favorite 3 songs, what would they be? Or, you're driving the Z8 and news comes over the radio that the earth will very shortly be hit by a giant meteorite, but you have enough time to listen to 3 songs. Or, the government announces that gasoline will no longer be sold, effective immediately, but you have enough in the tank for one last drive that would last, you guessed it, for 3 songs. Anyway, you get the picture.

Please name the song, the artist, and the album. I look forward to your suggestions, and I'll update the list as they come in.

I'll start:
- Lasidan, Ry Cooder & Ali Farka Toure, Talking Timbuktu
- Is This Love, Bob Marley, Legend
- Bang a Gong, T Rex, Electric Warrior

REM - Its the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine) Album of same name

Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run Album of same name

Joe Cocker - Feelin' Alright Album - WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS

(I reserve the right to substitute!) Also, I recall Bang a Gong blaring at the swim club as an adolescent - still have fond visual image of the bikini clad copper-toned teens! I couldn't wait to grow up!

Thank you Gary. Keep them coming everyone.

As for the CD, I think we're going to have to burn them ourselves, in iTunes or whatever music program you subscribe to.

My soundtracks are only used on the freeway part of the drives, since once I'm clear of the big city, and into full attack mode on the back roads, the mad Miesterich's drown out everything!
These are a couple of my favorite tracks for leaving town and keeping me calm around the other fools on main arteries.
