Hi, I have studied the exploded view parts guides for the Z8 and I can't find the part number for the aluminum trim pieces that cover the heated seat buttons on the passenger and drivers side. My car is missing those and I would like to get new ones. Does anyone know the part #?
Thanks!

I can't see the trim pieces separately, but the whole button is 61 31 8 377 338.
My car doesn't have covers, so maybe they were an aftermarket addition...

Thanks Zeta, I guess I don't mean the covers. Instead the aluminum trim pieces on the seater heater buttons are gone. There is only black plastic.

I am guessing that you have to buy the whole button...

I am willing to do that. Is it the same button for passenger and driver?

Yes, there is only one button listed (i.e. no left and right versions).

I am trying to find this part online, it does not cross reference with anything?

How do I buy this part? Do I have to get it from the dealer? Looks like it comes in a set of 2.

Thanks again Zeta, this is very helpful. I did find the part on real oem. However, when I search the various part suppliers they all say it is not available. I am not surprised since it is probably an unusual part and the z8 was made in low quantities. I am better off with the dealer ordering the part from bmw?

Unless someone else has an idea on a source, that would be my course of action...

The best BMW source for OEM parts is Dana Caldwell at Peter Pan BMW, 650-294-2123 or email - dana@peterpanbmw.com
and let him know exactly what you'll need and he'll get it for you. I've seen these covers and some of the other aluminum interior facia parts come unglued - it is pretty rare, but does happen.
