    New Wheel Caps

    I helped NorCal take his car over to Peter Pan today for a slew of new upgrades. While there, we were looking around Dana's parts palace, and we noticed that BMW now has some new wheel caps with a chrome ring that fills the entire hub hole instead of the old ones that have a gray plastic lip. Without the plastic lip, the roundel portion of the center is now slightly larger, and it has a greater convex relief (compared to the old one that's fairly flat). In short, they look MUCH better.

    Part number looks to be 36 136 783 536 (not sure if this ala carte or for a set). I grabbed a set, and they're already on my dirty car.

    Then again for the price of all the bailouts, it might be cheaper.

    For me in particular, the old caps with the grey lip would have been hideous with my new black wheels

    Dana and his crew are the best. At least one of his guys (matt) and now a new guy with deep Z8 experience, only work on Z8s... pretty much full time. I don't believe there is anyone in this country that knows the cars so well. Seems like they always have a couple in for upgrades and maint. I can't recommend them enough.

    new wheel caps

    I just ordered a set for my z8, which I have been told will be shipped to me by next saturday, and I ordered a set for my m5 as well. Thanks.
