    Question Shipping a Z8 ??

I am starting this thread in hopes of having anyone who has ever shipped a Z8 for pleasure or due to purchasing one somewhere and having to have it shipped nationally or internationally, to PLEASE share the information as to who you used, reasonable pricing, time frame, parameters for shipping (i.e, open or closed, first on, last off, no unloading en route, etc) and whether you would use them again or recommend them. Lastly, specify a contact information.

Hopefully, the whole of us can collectively benefit from each others success and avoid each others mistakes when shipping our unique Z8s or other cars.
    Best Regards,

This is a great idea for a thread.

    I have used Plycar:

    http://www.plycargroup.com/

To ship two cars and one time I didn't like how they tied the wheels down because they scraped them and the other, more recent time, they did a wonderful job.

I know people who speak very highly about Intercity:

    http://www.intercitylines.com/

    And Horseless Carriage:

Have shipped cross-country quite a bit over the past few years and never had any issue whatsoever with the following companies:

    - Plycar (15-plus times), always gets my first call; scheduling, pricing, service.
    - Exotic (6-times)
    - InterCity (twice)
    - Passport (twice)
    - Rocket Express (twice, one man show out of South Florida)

I've found Passport to be consistently the most expensive at least when they were part of FedEx, haven't checked them since.

Will never use Autolog again and stay away from shipping brokers as the only thing they do is post it on a board, rather drive myself.

One more vote for the Plycar group. They are a family owned and operated business, and a division of Plycon Moving. We've had many experiences with both auto and home contents, and never a problem. Chris, an owner located at the Kings Park, NY office, has arranged our Texas/Oklahoma Z8 group shipments and should be your first call.

I shipped a Cobra from Oregon through to the UK. This was about four years ago and they were excellent and very helpful. Sorted the pick up through to LA, put on a train to Texas and then on a boat to the UK.

My Contact was Anna Wroblewska at Rinkens in LA. http://www.cfrrinkens.com/

According to her Linkedin she now works for a company called Martins Transport International http://shipmti.com/

She was really helpful. Checked the bits and pieces that were put in the car for me, took photographs before it was put in the container etc.. I'd definitely be inclined to give her a call again.

Can't remember the cost now, but it was reasonable.

    Plycar

I have used Plycar probably a dozen times over the years and will use them again. They are prompt, responsive, careful and reliable.

Who ever you use please make sure they have a lift gate and can tie the car down across the tires or through the wheels. Never tie a Z8 down using the frame or suspension.

I used Plycar to ship one of my Z8 from Orange County (where i purchased it) to my home in Houston without any problems and on time deliver. They charged $1300, which I thought was a bit much, but they did a good job. Because of the excellent treatment and communication from the driver, I did give him a nice tip.

    Shipping

Used Reliable twice. One car CA to TX and two cars TX to CA. Professional, reasonable pricing, flexible schedule and constant communications and updates. Last move was a husband/wife team and great.
