    Question on Alpina badges

Looking at Autotrader today I noticed that the badge on two of the Alpina'a listed had raised lettering for the BMW ALPINA V8 ROADSTER but the numbering was indented. On my Alpina all of the numbers and letters are indented. I have included two pictures of the differnt type badges from Autotrader. Does any one know why there were different types?

    Alpina badge

When I visited Alpina in December they said that the fully engraved badge
was required on US models because of US safety regulations.

Thank you for the insight. That being the case it would appear that some European spec Alpina's are for sale in the U.S. on Autotrader.

I have a US spec Alpina and have the raised lettering on the badge. Just wondering if anyone else has the same. Sorry to bring up a question asked before, but I think there are a few more Alpina owners here now.

    Thanks
