    Red face Centralized lock and more...

    The troubles continue ....
    After the starter,
    and the third brake light,


    This morning before going to technical inspection (required every two years in France):
    The car starts but
    there is no centralized closure,
    there are no interior lighting,
    The hood not work (yet to lamp lights on the dashboard)
    there are no wiper,
    The passenger door is closed,
    the trunk is closed,
    fuel door also
    I tried disconnecting the battery but apart to scream alarm nothing.


    brief happiness ...


    Have you any ideas? I hear the ZKE module?

    I don't recall earlier posts describing such problems coming up all at once. I would check the fuses for these electrical systems but if that effort failed to resolve the problems then a trip to the shop would be next.

    The fact that all the problems seem to be electrical suggests a general module (ZKE) failure. Do you have someone that you can swap the module with to test?

    I had the central lock failure and replaced the General Module (GM).
    Hattat

    AF77768 Topasblau / Schwarz

    PP installed
    Motorsport 20" style 101 wheels

    My car has the occasional gremlin of the key in the ignition chime sometimes continuing after I've removed the key from the lock. The strangest was two weeks ago when the car locked both doors with me inside and wouldn't unlock (using any combination of key fob and dash lock button) until after the fourth time turning the ignition on and off.

    My problem is identified, the GM5 module (ZKE) fails.
    I have to change and reprogram the GM5

    This is a known problem on the BMW E46, it is the failures of Tyco relay on GM5 module (ZKE)


    Many people make the change relays $ 80-100 without changing the module GM5 which will keep the settings.

    Just replaced the module. Fortunately, I retained the old one. Do you know the cost of the repair and where to send the boards?

    Search for "zke repair" in Google...

    Z8 share the same electronic with E38/E46

    The CMD5 module is near the nav CD !! not in the glove box
