    Bad headlights needed

If anyone has one or two old/fogged headlights I'm looking for a donation. I have a local shop who specializes in refurbishing them. They have never done z8 lights, but have done f360 ones which have the style construction. If you send one or two to me, I will have them try, and if it works, will send the units back to you at no charge. If it doesn't work.... Toast!

Now I wish I would have kept my old ones when mine were replaced about 7 years ago (with Bill Stuarts assistance). Hope someone can donate a test one for you. Any idea what the cost would be if the operation is successful?

Not sure yet, but I don't think it's all that much. Fingers crossed it works. The first set will be free as a test.

I am prepared to fund part of the purchase of the $75 unit on eBay with one or two other members for the purpose of conducting this test. If this was to be a permanent fix to fogging headlights issue, it is definitely worth pursuing. If more of us can get together, we could consider buying a unit that is in better shape and therefore a better platform for the test.

OK I will split the cost with you. Easiest would be to give me your PayPal details.

Thanks guys. So far, buying an old light on eBay for 75 is no burden... I'll just do that on my own. A cheap way to find out if it works!

Bought the one on eBay. Get it about a week. Not sure how long the repair attempt will take.

With questionable support from BMWNA, I believe as a group we'll need to find our own solutions to a list of design and manufacturing issues...thanks for taking the lead on this.

In case it helps...I know the E39 guys bake their lights to get them apart. I remember seeing a thread on m5board.com about the best temperature for doing so.

Yup, but the construction on the z8 is different. I think they are cutting them apart! I'll pick up the Guinea pig this week.
