Thread: M Blitz :: 1988 BMW M6

  1. M Blitz
    General Information
    M Blitz
    1988
    BMW
    M6
    Cinnebar Rot / Lotus Weiss/Schwarz

    I ordered this car in mid-1987 with a "few enhancements" including the one of a kind two-tone interior and other unique features.

    I raced it in the 1990 Silver State Classic averaging 149.7 mph, hitting a top speed of 162 mph all while placing 9th. The first eight were all race cars.

    M Blitz was featured in the November 2005 issue of BMW Car magazine, which called it the "Best M6 in the World." It has also won countless Concours over the years, including Bimmerfest twice, Legends of the Autobahn twice, Dana Point Concours M-Class, etc.

    M Blitz has 32,xxx miles and is in pristine condition.

    Hey Bob, that's as a true "Blast for the Past." That's the Roundel cover photo, right?

    Yes, it is quite amazing. That car is over a quarter century old and it still looks great. In fact, I can think of no "luxury coupe" from that era that I liked more. And, though Roundel could not tell the full story, this car, with less than 275 miles on it to this day, is totally unique in what BMW and M did to it from an engine, transmission, suspension and many other points of view. Maybe, one day, I'll tell the whole story.

    Bob, create a Garage Gallery for it here, and the Alpina too, and tell us their stories, we're all ears!
