    1600GTZ

Got this picture from fellow GT owner Axel who went to the Glas meet in Dingolfing.
While normally not a fan of Frankensteins, retro-mods etc., I believe that these are kidneys well-spent.

As much as I like the look, I wonder what it does to the collector value?

    Dirk,
Does this mean you'd be willing to sacrifice your car's originality to show us what a Z8 would look like with a Glas nose for a ZGT?

If I remember correctly the Glas 1600 came with and early and a later grill, the later having the familier BMW kidney grill tacked on as BMW assumed control of Glas

    Glas 1300/1700GT and BMW 1600GT

Almost correct. The Pietro Frua designed Glas 1300GT and the Glas 1700GT had the Glas grill. When BMW purchased Glas, BMW kidneys were added to the grill and the car got the same BMW engine as found in the (Europe-only) 1600ti with 2 double Solex carbs, BMW drive train and BMW rear suspension. It also received tail lights similar to those on the 1600-2. BMW had a hard time selling the re-badged BMW 1600GT cars and after one year and a production of 1,255 cars, the model was discontinued. Very few of these cars remain.
