    License Plate Mount Holes

We have removed the license plate holder and plate since in Texas it seems that the police don't care too much... Plus, the look of the Z8 front without an annoying protruding license plate holder is far better.

Long story short, we bought the car from NY where the holder was already installed, we took it off the other day leaving the expected three holes in the front bumper ...

Anyone have any ideas how we could do something about this without replacing the whole bumper?

    Thanks guys

Its a good question. While we must have our front plates on here for driving, I wish I could remove the plate holder when showing the car at special events. Do you have a picture of the holes in the bumper?

I know bumper plastic can be filled/"welded" but it would still need full refinishing and paint. Then use the tow hook mount plate holder when needed?

You could try a product like this one if you wanted to go back to installing the plate, as needed.

Thanks Norcal, reckon if those bumper plugs don't satisfy we'll look into that

I used the bumper plugs for years before having the holes filled and painting the bumper. It's a good idea if you're traveling in other states where you might need to reinstall that front plate.

Just take the unlikely but possible $60 ticket or stick the plate on passenger side dash for those states. I have been running one plate for 4 years in NY and have yet to get a warning.

I've not had a front plate on mine since 2000. I've only been stopped once for an expired tab - it was at home ready to attach (if the cop had been closer behind me he'd have caught the car in front of me running a red light). Never stopped in BC, WA, OR or CA on my various trips (although in CA, I tend to drive with people going a lot faster than me, so they can draw the heat)
