    Bay Area Z8 lunch

Wer're doing a Bay Area z8 lunch in Danville this Thursday, to celebrate the beautiful spring driving season, and to welcome "otomo" to the group.... Initiation ritual? So far there are five of us. Contact me if you want to come along. Ed?

I'm going to have to harass my body shop into making sure they get this done in time! I told Norcal the details but long story short is the car was keyed on the passenger side, from front to rear, though the rear quarter panel got hit the hardest. Either way it's the same amount of paint work but I was estimated to have it back Wednesday.

I'm so sorry to hear that, that's the kind of thing I expect in Europe, but here in the US. Where were you parked when it happened?

A Safeway parking lot in Dublin. It's a bummer, but I stopped by the shop today and it looks like they did a fantastic job on the paint. They think they'll get it back to me Wednesday morning like promised. They want to take their time in putting it all back together, which I appreciate.

Blazing mid-day sun in a crowded retail lot. Don't expect much on photos, but we'll grab a few.

Thank you Norcal for setting up the lunch today. It's always good to catch up with the folks from the board and to meet the new guys too!

Nice! It's good to have an almost matching pair. But I don't think we'll go to many client meetings in the two!

Was a fun time guys, sorry for the delay in response. Thanks for the invite and great meeting all of you! I look forward to going on some drives with you guys after I get my performance package installed. Though from the sound of things, you may be a little less cautious in driving than I am with the car so I may not be able to keep up

We're not "less cautious" just more "spirited" (see BMWs rational for the PP). Great meeting you... Funny that I know the car through your dad. Say hi to him for me, haven't seen him in a while.

PS: be aware, most serious Z8 enthusiasts are absolute hooligans! As least the ones we love most!

They often leave me behind - I just don't want to drive beyond my talent, and my talent is clearly not in driving a car.

We need a 'slow' group to keep me company at the back of the pack

Tom you don't need any talent, just a suction cup to tag on with Ian or Andrew and an off switch for your brain functions. That is how I do it.
