    New stable mate !

After a fairly long internet search for replacement for my '99 Boxster I found this 2011 911 4S in Virginia at Intersport Performance. It has PDK transmission with Sports Chrono Plus package and so far I am extremely happy with it. The car is extremely well optioned and in truly outstanding condition. With four wheel drive it should be a great sleigh for me once the snow and ice return to Iowa (I hope we're done for this year!).

Great "driver upgrade". You only needed one drop top anyway.

Perfect everyday driver, and for winter too. 911 may be the greatest car of all time. Not the most exotic, or fastest, but truly perfect in most ways, with no compromises.

Wow, greatest car of all time? Did I just say that? Do you have a better answer? Consider reliability, handling, comfort and enjoyment factor... And price?

I loved my GT3 - but secretly I want the new Cayman S, I really like that thing!

Yup, I like it too, but it is no gt3! And, it's really no better (more electronic) than the old one. You can spend half the amount on an older cayman S, and put in some sweet mods for WAY less.

Nice. We had a 997 C4S cab and loved it. Good, quality car, reliable and a great driver.
    Congrats.

She's a beauty! I'm on my second 997 and the first one a 2CS was bulletproof. Enjoy!

Congratulations! Will you put snow tires on it?

Absolutely as this will be my "snow car". Most likely going down to 18 inchers with a skinnier foot print.

The summer is 235/35-19 (front) and 305/30-19 (rear) and the recommended winter from TireRack 235/40-18 (front) and 265/40-18 (rear). On the Boxster I have had the Michelin Pilot Alpins and I have been very happy with those so most likely I will do the same with the 4S.

Sounds good. I have good experiences with MPAs and also Pirelli Sottozeros. Suggestion- get the front end of the car wrapped in the clear protectant film. They've made big advances with this stuff now and it helps give peace of mind when all kinds of road debris hits the car.

Nice "beater"! Great color as well. The 4S will be a blast. I put 18" Michelin PS on my 997 C2 and it's a much better ride than with the 19's. 30,000 miles and bulletproof.

Agreed on the Cayman S, but the older ones - maybe not quite as pretty as the new - are totally enjoyable. I picked up an '05 Boxster S with 10,000 miles in Sept, now have 19,000. Love it. Not sure I'd get a bigger bang for the buck with a new one for two times the price of a good used one. Now debating whether or not to keep the 997...
