Just to be fully forthcoming, this is a European model. To some that is a plus, to others it isn't.

At least it'll be easy to reimport it as it has the correct tail lamps!

    Bargain price in my opinion.

Now that warranties are done, I can't see the downside.

heavily modified for performance. Although, not to the level of GM's car

And if you're an EU buyer this car is a boon because the reimportation is a snap with an EU VIN.

not sure if this is the right place top post this, which is the better buy and which would be worth more in the long run as long as miles are kept under 10,000? this car or the other 2000 Z8 USA model listed on here for $89,900 with 39k miles?

IMHO it comes down to how the collector market will view a non US car. My understanding is mechanically they are identical.

I would agree with Jerry. My only caution would be to see when the car was imported into the US and do they have the original import documents showing how many kilometers were on the car. If it came here new and service records back up the miles, no problem, but I have seen cars imported into the US that had a bunch of kilometers on them and when the speedo was changed over, the miles were zeroed out. Not saying that is the case here, just something that needs to be checked closely. With collector cars like Ferraris, Porsches and Mercedes, while US cars are preferred, European counterparts are still very valuable.

I would be be willing to bet that most, if not all, Euro Z8s arrived in the first year release when most dealers were not willing to part with their allotment for anything resembling MSRP. That being said, I would think that most of those had relatively low miles on them. But absolutely nothing wrong to corroborate that information.

The EU car will always hold a premium for EU buyers because of its ease of reimportation, the US car will command a premium here, but the milage may well be the equalizer if this car was to be sold in the US, just as you see now.

i guess the question is, how many miles did it have before it was converted, and when was it converted?

I had to change the speedo on my Range Rover when I moved back to the UK from France a few years ago. The reading on the dial could not be changed (it was a computerised readout - according to Land Rover) and therefore the dial started adding miles to kilometers! Annoying because it inflated the miles. Maybe the same with the Z8 as my range Rover was from that period. Chris

Thats consistent with my experience with multiple Land Rover products. They always do wacky things!
