    Smile 1 of 77

Saw the 1 of 77 at Aston Martin of Long Island today. It is the only one in the US and they said that only 3 will be comming to the US. Supposedly, a Sheik bought 7 of them!
    Enjoy!

Great shape on the rear lights. Too bad they're individual LEDs instead of an illuminated tube. Such an aggressive beauty.

I love the way the headlights are integrated into the air intake - COOL!

My intial reaction is not positive....
I think I would have the urge to wear a Batman costume while driving.

They let you sit in it? Are you the lucky owner?

Personally, I think what makes this car a beauty is not the little details but the overall proportions. Like the huge rear hips and long nose. The Mclaren SLR Merc had a long nose too but they did not nail it like AM did.

You guys probably saw this floating around last year. A Hopeful Car designer took the AM 1-77 and made some minor styling que changes to make it into the next Ferrari GTO. If the 1-77 doesn't melt your butter, maybe this interpretation of the same car will.

That is a really great bit of CGI & Photoshop work, I really like it too, in an ideal world I'd have them both! ;-)

I like those renderings though the front end in side profile is a drop too Lamborghini for Ferrari. Otherwise it looks great and it has elements from the famous 250 GTO and even 550 Maranello.

As to the One-77. It's not my cup of tea but its cool to see. The front end has always reminded me of this from Stargate Atlantis.

Michael I think you are right about the proportions but I think just like a good Rush album - ideally, you'd have both: great proportions and fantastic detailing. But yeah, if it doesn't rock from the beginning, you're not going to stay around for the details.

Ha! You are so right on all counts.

Truth be told, I like the GTO version better.

That dude from Stargate Atlantis really does look similar. Autoweek should run that on their separated at birth piece on the "but wait, there's more" back page.

    Hi Joe
Do you live on Long Island? I can walk to that dealer from my house. I will have to check it out tomorrow.

I live on Staten Island, but I know Simon from the AMOC and I just bought a Virage from him.
I think the 1 of 77 is gone by now.

I'm guessing it went to Ralph Lauren if it was in the 'hood.

The one I saw was a prototype that they had put 17,000 miles on testing it in the cold, the heat, etc. They were just showing it for a few days at the Dealer.

I was invited in behind the ropes by the guys at Aston Martin as I sell a few cars for them every year. I too sat in the car and they opened the engine hood for me to get a few pics. Awesome car but at 1.8 million I don't think so, even if I had the money to buy it, which I don't.

I used to go to the LA auto show every year, but it's been about 8 years that I have not -- for one reason or another. Next time, we should plan to go as a group.

I used to go too for the preview days, they keep sending me ticket applications, but I don't really have that much interest in new cars these days, the Z8 just becomes more and more the car that does what I want and need as my 'fun' car, and I doubt I'll be replacing the daily driver anytime soon in this economy.

Same here, nothing new interests me. As Carlos would say, the Z8 has changed the equation.
