    Mines Road

Jack and I took the car out for a short drive yesterday as a celebration of replacing three (one previously) cam position sensors. We went south from Livermore on Mines RD for 15 or so miles and back. We were the only car on the road. No codes - runs like beast. Fun times with the boy.

Here are a few snaps from the phone with the sun fading behind the advancing marine layer that brought a cooler change yesterday.

Really cool. Love the second picture.

Can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to not need a car seat.

No fresh gravel this time? Looks like Jack was having a great time too. Love that road.

No gravel. Can you believe that was three years ago when you, Morgan, and I did that drive? I'm pretty sure that I ruined a tire on Highland that day. With several great roads "in a stone's throw", we really need to be doing small drives more. I really want to do Mines to Hamilton to Calaveras. Photos at the observatory?

Jack loves it when I take him in the car.

Side note - I really hope the new iPhone, with its rumored to be improved camera, ditches the 4:3 ratio for 2:3. I know it better matches the screen resolution with the on-screen control, but it's such a yuck ratio. With the new hardware shutter, they should fade out the controls or go with an overlay button.

Thanks, Carlos! I'll be not far south of you later this week welcoming home Laura's son-in-law who is a pilot in the Marines. He's been on deployment for the past eight months, and I thought it'd be great to give Jack some appreciation for those that serve on the front lines. So, we're going to see his group fly in to Miramar from their carrier. Should be way cool.

The car's smiling too after being cooped up for over a month.
