    Stained/Faded Leather

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this.

Small spot on console leather, size of nickel where leather seems to have been damaged and is stained or faded. I wonder if this is bird dropping damage or some sort of spill. Is much more evident after leather is conditioned and slowly fades, not completely, with time.

Is there a color code for crema leather and/or a color matched dye that I could try?

You might want to give this site a try. I use them whenever I have a detailing question...

the "car detailing" forum is probably the best place to ask your question.

I'd guess a bird too, let us know if you find a suitable solution. As a new Crema owner I'd be very keen to know. Norcal has kept his Crema interior looking prefect for many years, so he might have a suggestion on good stuff for it.

This is the best contact I know for leather care. I tried their products several times and can highly recommend them. It is possible to get all the interiour colours of the Z8.

Good luck with that, and please do keep us posted. While mine has escaped major stains, the minor stuff, of which I have many, is chalked up to "Patina". My mats have taken the biggest beating, but those are easy to replace.

It looks like the painted area has the same discoloration.

    have you looked at ...

They have a cleaner. Perhaps a "magic eraser"... but careful with those... try somewhere else first.

Thanks to all for the input.

The painted console is absolutely perfect. What you are seeing is simply a light reflection.

The car is going in to my local dealer on thursday for new headlights courtesy of Bill Stuart and I am having their "Leather Guy" look at it. He is going to call me with his thoughts before doing anything.

    Details to follow.

The car went in and final result below.

The leather was not only discolored but it felt a bit rough to the touch as if it were pitted.

A bit of leather sanding to smooth out the roughened surface and color matched dying and problem solved.

Very relieved it all worked out.

Thanks for the post. Looks like great results. With a crema interior myself, I'm happy to see they can fix some problems.

He did a great job. One that I did not want to experiment with myself on this particular car.
