    Rocker Panel Protection

I have owned my Z8 for 14 months now. Washed it today after driving in light rain. I noticed the rocker panels really wrap underneath. Road dirt and grime therefore and really add up behind the wide tires. Has anyone installed protective film (such as 3M etc) to these exposed areas?. Cannot imagine installing mud flaps!!

Yes, I had the film applied to the entire front end (whole hood and fenders) and the rocker panels and rear fenders all the way up to the trunk and all underneath way back when the car was new. The back end is vulnerable to rock hits because it is so damn wide. In fact, the only areas not covered in my car are the doors and the trunk lid. I had it all replaced last summer and the paint underneath was pristine, just like the day I picked her up. Could not be happier.

3M. Installer used thicker film for the headlights and thinner for the rest because the thicker is not pliable enough. I forget the difference in thickness though. BTW, I also had the windshield done.
