    Front Bumper Cover

For those of you with an unrepairable bumper cover, I was able to purchase a new, primed cover (BMW 51118242268) from original-autoparts.com for $1670.55, all-in with shipping to Texas. Place looks legit with two warehouses in Germany. Should arrive in a couple of weeks. I will post again, red-faced if it was a scam.

Looks like my plan has crashed. Company said they cancelled my order as they could no longer find a shipper for the part to the US.

I would understand slow shipping, but no shipping?

I agree, and asked if they had another shipping option, and if not, to please take the US Shipping option off their website. I doubt I will hear back. Schade, they would have been a good source.I have had this problem before with ECS Tuning, and even BMW Classic, listing a part on their website and it not being available. BMW Classic surprised me. It was a wiring harness for my '83 320i. I purchased it on their website, and they replied they did not have in stock and did no know when they would get it. I asked for the oem manufacturer they last sourced it from or the specifications to have one custom made and they declined, each time just telling me they only sell things they have in stock on their website. After repeated requests they at least removed it from their website. I had mine repaired, and later sourced a used one on eBay. original-autoparts.com did promptly refund my credit card, but I will need to watch it still for any unusual charges.

I have a pretty banged up front spoiler does anyone know if just the lowest piece (the one that hits some curbs or speed bumps) can be repaired and if not what OEM part # price is?

It is all one part No. 51118242268 (realoem.com is a good free source for part numbers). Repair and repaint depends on the shop and the bumper condition. Some will only repaint the whole bumper; others will repaint down from the indented "seam" at the bottom. If the bumper has just scratches at the bottom and a slight crack, it may be able to be filled, sanded and repainted. Best source for that is Dana at Peter Pan, now that he is back.My bumper woes continue. Most places now won't ship, but I have not tried the out of state BMW dealerships, which at best would total about $2400. I have one local BMW warehouse that would let me pick up for about $1900, but they have lost interest since they say there is only 1 bumper currently in the US. I am trying to get them to order that one or a new one since I am not in a rush.
