Z8 Related collectibles and other cool stuff

It seems the forum has been kind of quiet of late. In order to try and spark up some conversation, I thought it might be fun for those who want to participate to post pictures of unique or unusual Z8-related collectibles, memorabilia, literature, clothing, toys, etc. I know some of you (I'm looking at you, Ton!) have a treasure trove of cool Z8 stuff. I have a couple such items, and to start it off here is something I made myself by combining my somewhat battle-scarred original Z8 shift knob with the base from a promotional item I was given many years ago. The aluminum base originally came with a fake wood shift knob that substituted the letters spelling "Y E E H A W" for the numbers indicating the gear positions. I keep it on my desk in my home office and occasionally use it to run through the gears when I can't drive the real thing.

This pin was a giveaway at the London premiere of The World is Not Enough. That is the completely unverified story.

This link should go to a little video about the premiere that has some nice clips of the car. Notably, Q's assistant mentions the six cup holders in the car. Those are missing from my car. Also missing, the integrated missile system - if anyone knows of a good aftermarket source I'd sure be interested!

My car space has 22ft ceiling...I bet it would fit nicely there alongside a similar Ferrari dealer banner flag I recently acquired (which is about 12ft long)! What are its dimensions?

I recently found an extremely rare piece on ebay. The gent who was selling had BMW Z8 preorder packets that were sent to dealerships to order the Z8. The black envelope contains a smaller version to the gray start engine brochure that has some subtle differences from the final larger versions that were found in show rooms, a card stating some engine data mods, four large color chips of exterior colors, and a cover letter from the marketing manager of BMW.

I asked Ton if he had ever seen this before and the guru said he had not. The gentleman had eight of them and I bought them all. If any collectors are interested in one of these packets please email me at [email protected]
