    Wind-powered Z8

Jack and I took a quick drive up the Altamont pass, just East of Livermore a month or two back. It's one of the country's largest wind farms. I thought I'd be a fun backdrop for a few quick snaps at sunset. The backdrop is Tracy with the central valley and the Sierras beyond.

To get even a few snaps was quite challenging with the wind blowing at what I'd "technically" classify as near hurricane force. I'd be a whole lot easier to keep the tripod still if they'd turn off all the fans.

Ohhhh, that really suits the black well, as does the silver grille!

Wow! Stunning. That is the only time to shoot our black cars. And the grills look spectacular, I must say! You need to shoot a little more so you can put a "6-pack" in the gallery. A pretty fun road too.

I second that, we always need more Gallery submissions!!

    Thanks!

I probably have nearly six gallery "worthy" shots at this point. I can count four or five from memory. I might need to add a day trip to Yosemite in the car later this month to finish out a set.

I'd love to clear the Vegas strip sometime and do a black car shoot.

I'd say not looking too likely this fall. Everyone is so busy and there's already snow in the sierras.

They're direct from the E60 M5. They're good, but not great on the silver cars. They really work best on dark colors.

Yeah, they're only 2 or 3 lbs less per corner.

Its because they are cast wheels. Thats nearly all the Europeans. Very few are forged.

Hmmm. I just re-read the weights. My memory was off. They're 9 less in the front and 7 less in the rear. More than I thought.
