I remember Hamann from the e39 M5 days. They always had some nice stuff but ALWAYS over did it and put too much on their cars. The wheels look good, imo but I also remember they were bricks, like 30 and 32 lbs!!
Choosing the door and bumper seams as the bounds vs. "just where they need to be" always ruins it for me on the shamus.

Hate the two tone and body cladding.
Love the wheels/suspension and solid red interior

I'm not sure if I like the extra-lowered look (in particular at the rear). It looks like someone put one too many dead bodies in the trunk.

It certainly appears to be real, but it's also really strange. I guess it goes to show that money isn't always the arbiter of good taste.

The photos of my Z8 (previously Andrew's) where taken in Barcelona (parked in front of the Arts Hotel). :-)
I'm surprised to see them here. ;-) It was my small trip in May 2011 from Barcelona through all the Spain. :-))
Your car looks great with the Alpina wheels! There are a few more pictures here...

Thanks for some more photos. :-)
I do really enjoy driving it a lot in Europe, and that ride was really awesome, Thank you for reminding me of that time. :-)) We spend every Spring with my Z8 in Europe.
Please send over some shots and tell us about your drives!

As soon as I have time, I'll find some more pics in my computer and post them. (The ones above, is just what I have on my iPad)
Nice!! You must have just washed the car when you took the Moscow pics. BTW, the Alpina wheels really work on the Topaz.

I know, I was wondering if it was a Z8 Club event in Berlin, or maybe a BMW showcase of show kind?

If you like red... lot's of red, the Hamann Z8 is for sale in Germany on mobile.de for 150,000 euro.
Is it me or just the photo, but those bolsters look very deep?

Of course I'm biased, but the sport red, with all the black pieces to break up the brothel look, is so much classier.

Is that really an ALPINA? There's something written below the trunk lid where "ALPINA" is normally placed, but it looks like the last 2 letters may be "Z8".
This car looks oddly like it (same wheels and almost same plate): Do you think it's the same one?
Here are the first pictures: http://www.autogespot.nl/bmw-z8/2010/10/29
Could be, maybe it changed hands, hence the change of plate?

Not a "what's my color car" but here's something you don't see everyday... cows and a Z8 filmed from another Z8!!! Those cows have good taste (no pun intended) as some of them turn their heads to get a good look at the silver car.
http://youtu.be/vHMLbkP1HDE
At least one of the cows demonstrated it has good taste. It stopped to take a good look at the silver Z8 before continuing on it's own "road trip".
What's my color? SILVER!!! at the Silverstone Classic in the UK.
Thanks, that's a cool line up for the UK, I wonder how many of them are aware of our board?

If you ever wondered what stock Z8 wheels look like in black, here you go. Not bad, but not something I would do. Looks like all the chrome trim has been wrapped black too.
I kind of like it on the Silver car; breaks up all that silver.

Interesting, but not my cup of tea. The saving grace is the black top to give it some continuity.
I think that this the matte black that shows up over and over again in our posts.
http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat...rt=ALSO_EXPORT
Most of us assumed that it is/was a matte black wrap, but according to my (German) wife, it's a silver car that has been repainted in matt black with "no expense spared." It's for sale on mobile.de for $169K net (I assume "net" means without the VAT).
I've been thinking that when the 70% wrap on my Red car is ready for replacing, I'll go black matt wrap, but it won't be a full repaint.

That is interesting, that makes it one of very few Alpina Blue cars in US Specs, five went to Canada, and one actually came up for sale a few years back. I still regret not buying it!
That car, #555 was owned by the family, and came on one of the Z8 Club drives in Europe I went on a few years ago.

In these photos it looks like topaz. Needs more light? That would be such an awesome car to have/ own. Too bad they drilled the front bumper!
It is very close to Topaz, but it's more metallic and a little more magenta-lilac.

I'm guessing that is the Grease Monkey replica that I heard was commissioned for an owner here in CA, heavily inspired by the original Daytona Protoype engined special, you can see more on that one here.

I agree on the Steering wheel but I can appreciate everything else they did. Looks like it was all done for performance rather than driving comfort.
I am fairly positive that is a dry sump oil tank in the trunk. They know how to fill the fenders with rubber, tho I am not in love with the super low profile tires from both an esthetic standpoint as well as driving pleasure stand point.

Funny, of the 12 Stratus & Red/Black cars, the board has 4 registered... a full 33%. That's a higher ratio than any other color combo. Are any of those duplicates? If a car changes hands, I assume the new owner is counted again.
I think there's three, one from the EU, Gordini's EU spec car on PR, and the one Marty had that's now in Utah.

Still, a disproportionately large percentage registered here... 25% of all built.
