Three coffee table books on ebay NOW ( same seller)

Somehow or another this person has had five, new in the box, coffee table books. They sold two recently, on ebay. Now posted are the remaining three. There is one black/black and two black/silver. The buy it now price is $1500, per book. That seems pretty reasonable with the box and leather wrap. One might want to ask what the vin on the id plates are. Good luck to any one who needs this precious item.

  2. #2
Wow! I wonder how one person came to possess five books?

  3. #3
the vin numbers are: 61947,61615, and 61111. Do we know anyone who owns these cars?

  4. #4
No, I'd guess it must be either someone connected to a dealership, or possibly BMW NA as it's not easy to come by the books as we all know.

Of those three cars only 61947 appears in our history, seen here for sale in 2012 at EAG, curiously with it's book.

That owner last visited the board in 2014, so my guess is that car has been sold on, and oddly EAG seem to have deleted their profile, though they show up as active in the forum CP they haven't visited since 2019.

My new "baby" was dropped off last night. Will post pics on the registry page. It came with the book, but the wrong VIN on the book!! My VIN is 61379 and the book's is 62106. The book is in perfect condition (boxed, leather, etc.). I contacted the seller, who has two other Z8's for sale to ask if he had the correct book. He is going to look. Neither of the other two are 62106. Would really like to get the right book...

I heard that Eric at EAG passed away (motorcycle accident, I was told). Maybe that’s why they’ve deleted their profile?

There is a coffee table book on ebay as we speak, for car 60466. If you're out there it ends on Monday. It's for a silver car with a black enteriorOn another subject. I bought a red/crema Z8 back in June. It is now at EAG in Cincinnati getting a thorough going over. What experiences have you all had with EAG? Things are going really well. Mike Kent and Rodney have been very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I've had my share of cars and rebuilt a couple but when it comes to the newest technology....well it's way over my head. I wouldn't begin to try and play with the headliners. There are so many little nuances I'm unfamiliar with. Please chiefdoms in with your experiences.

I am glad to hear EAG is continuing on after the unexpected and terrible loss of their founder.

    eBay can be a tough to search site sometimes. This will save time;

Does anyone know Alex Preston, in Texas? He is listed, in the community table, as the owner of a silver/black Z8, in Texas. The car that is registered to him is 61507. The coffeee table book for this car is on ebay right now. If Alex is not the owner, as of this date, does anyone know who does own this car? It would be nice to reconnect the car and book.

I have been told that it is possible to get the front cover sticker/matching VIN reproduced.

I reached out to Mr. Preston. He sold his Z8 to Mark Motors a few years ago. I called Mark Motors and gave them the vin. Maybe they can reconnect the book to the new owner of the car. I got an offer to buy the #61507 book , a few weeks ago, for $1400. You could probably buy it for $1200-1400. I looked in our community records and could not find an owner for #60895.

Wow, that's terrible news! https://insider.hagerty.com/trends/eric-keller/ Yes, he died while riding a motorcycle. I remember years ago talking to Eric as they had the race engined Z8 for sale when I opted to purchase my Dinan S3 Z8 instead. I stopped riding years ago when I realized it was not a question of if but rather when something would happen. As Andrew can personally attest, we are far safer in our Z8. I love the rush of riding a bike but the price is just too high for me. I prefer not to play Russian roulette. RIP Eric

Simply makes the point that motorcycles are inherently dangerous.
When I was a kid a close friend had a Triumph Bonneville. While driving it on the highway I experienced intense fear and never again got on a bike.

there is a coffee table book with the box, on ebay right now. It's interesting that the picture is for a red/crema car, but the leather wrapping is black????The bidding is starting at $300. It will need a new id tag and maybe a picture. Is anybody biding on this??

That is odd, the black leather for a red/cream car

  30. #30
I am bidding on the coffee table book, that is for a red Z8. I do not need it, but am trying to preserve it, should one of our forum members need it. I have bid $500. That is as high as I will go. If someone on our forum is also bidding to buy this for themselves please let me know and I will bow out. If you are bidding against me please let me know, too.

If you can get it for that price its an absolute bargain, they're usual in the 1500-2k range!
