    shift knob

    has anyone had their gear shift fly off on a fast 1-2... i found it in the back window and it just pushed back on.

    Yes, as a matter of fact, it's popped off twice in my hand. Like you, I just pushed it back on.

    could this be a safety issue, can i use superglue to keep the knob on?

    I wouldn't use superglue, because this is the way the knob gets disassembled.

    Normally, if you pull straight up, it comes off quite easily, your repair shop should be able to tell whether yours is too loose.

    You could go after market too. The one I have locks in place, but still can be easily removed when needed by moving the release.

    Just a thought.

    I have a Whalen Z8 knob like Orcatek's for sale

    has the z8 logo and 6 speed pattern.
    I'd let it go for 100 shipped.

    the superglue was a joke, i taught bmw should have some lock so it would not pull out so easily.
