The 2 Z8s up for auction seemingly went on the low end of the estimate - the one with only 550 miles on it sold for $264K including buyers premium.
Was there an issue with the car?

Yes, the rubbers were all dried out, the fuel lines were nearly clogged and the tires had flat spots.![]()

Which auction was this?
I didn't see the Z8 cross the block so I can't comment on it, but our cars did get a positive statement from one of the commentators during the auctioning of a Ford GT, during which he observed that the Z8 and the Ford GT were essentially the only "newer" cars that are selling at a substantial premium to their original sticker price ( I suppose his comment excludes a few very limited production supercars).

No issue with the car. Issue with the estimate.
The Alpina #140 hammer price was $230,000, i.e. the buyer paid $253,000 which is line with 2 private (Alpina) sales that I know of that were in the $250-$275k range.
The loser is the seller who only gets $207,000 minus transportation and marketing fees, and left a good $50k on the table.
