    New Owner ---Hi---

    Hi,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I just bought an '02 Z8 on Monday. I actually did much of my research lurking here and thought I would extend a hello and thank you to the board and to fellow Z8 owners.

On a side note, I cannot stop staring at this car, it is just beautiful & an absolute blast to drive!

    Cheers,

    Mike

Nice garage! I had a 1965 Corvette roadster that I sold a few years back. It was a 396/425 horse engine. Nassau blue/black. Top flighted, Bloomington Gold and Triple Spinner award winner. Wish I still had it but I was at a car show in Beverly Hills with it and a spectator approached me wanting to buy it. He eventually offered me a number I couldn't turn down.

    OH YEAH!!!!! Nice garage!!!

Any other mods besides the M5/6 wheels? I believe those are forged which is unusual for the Europeans.

Mine is a '65 also. It's actually one of four N03 "tankers" with A/C built that year, but most of it's bits and pieces went missing. It was my Dad's car originally, he sold it literally the day I was born. I found it 12 years ago, took me 9 years to convince the owner to sell it to me. He sold it to me on my 38th birthday.

It's a good driver though and my kids love it.

Thanks for all the nice comments. The Z8 fits nicely with my collection (the garage pics are actually at my office, a mile from my house) at home I only have room for two cars and a driver. I bought the FGT, new back in '07. the Z8 has always been on my short list and decided to buy it when I started to notice the pricing on Alpina's start to rise. It will only be a matter of time for the non-Alpinas to rise also.

    to Z8mania:

It has the Eisenhaus race exhaust, the M6 wheels you noticed and the performance package (still in the box). It was owned by my local BMW dealerships owner.

My dad had a new Corvette split window fuel injected coupe in Ermine white with a red interior. I was six when he brought it home one afternoon after work. I think that car ignited my passion for cars.

If/ When you are ready to discuss mods for the Z8- you know where to ask! Beautiful setup. Congratulations. I strongly strongly strongly recommend you get the PP put on the car. While its there ask them to remove the clutch delay valve. You'll be glad I suggested this! For more:

    Jerry,

I'll have my guy do that as the car is in the shop right now.

Thanks guys. This car is amazing... I feel like a drug addict though. I've actually started to try and talk my wife into another one... I must be sick in the head.

Congrats. I was a list lurker as well thinking I would probably never get one. In hindsight, I should have picked a different handle. One day the E92 M3 will be gone but the Z8 won't.
