Last Chance: NY Z8/M5 Meet, Drive and Lunch this Saturday the 10th.

The Header says it all folks. We have about 24 cars. It is this Saturday June, 10 in NY. We meet in West Nyack, near the Palisades Mall Sat morning. There will be coffee and donuts for all. We will all receive gifts from BMW and from Ken and I, your hosts. Also, Gustav has supplied me with 'M5.com' decals as take homes, too.
Via staggered departures, we will drive 90 -100 minutes on a mapped out route through woods and lakes and end at The Culinary Institute of America in Poughkeepsie for a gourmet french lunch.
There are still a few reservations left available. Email Ken. The info is at the very bottom of this post.
THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT, though the current forecast says mostly clear.

Hello all you V8 addicts. In my original post on this, I neglected to point out that we are trying to get M5ers along with Z8ers to this outing. If you own both, then you've got a logistics problem!
We have many attendees booked and paid for already but the restaurant says there is still room for more. If we get too many, I'll stand guard over the iron in the parking lot while you all eat, just don't forget a doggie bag for me! My co-organizer, Ken reports that we also have a Z8 cousin, the Fisker Tramonto, scheduled to join the ride. All info and instructions for registration are below. Check it out.

    Greetings Z8 devotees.
KenZ8 and I are announcing a meet with meat! Yes, the Z's of the Northeast are going to cruise up the beautiful Hudson River (next to, not in the water) from Rockland County for a gourmet three course luncheon at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. We have been fortunate enough to have booked a reservation at the famous CIA for lunch Saturday, June 10, 2006 in their Escoffier French restaurant. Following a lovely cruise on smooth and picturesque twisty roads, we will be allowed a photo session near the mansion that serves as the CIA's main building. Lunch will be available for the first 26 drivers and guests who reserve their places with a check for $38.00 per person which covers food, soft beverages, and gratuity. This restaurant is usually booked for at least six months in advance...this is an opportunity that should not be missed! What could be better than driving a gourmet car, eating a gourmet meal, and spending time with new and old friends?

The return trip will take us to other driving pleasures and photo opportunities. A route map will be published at this site shortly, and will accomodate drivers from throughout the area. This will be a rain or shine event due to the reservation requirements imposed by the Institute. This meal will be worth getting our cars wet if necessary. We shouldn't have to worry about snow by then, but the thoughts of the cruise will certainly help us get through this winter!!

I'm working on the route for this great event. I spent quite a bit of windshield time this past weekend getting started on mapping it out and I can assure you there will be many miles of twisty two laners, trees, lakes, and mountains. Be there. Aloha!

    Great Outing Saturday in NY!

    Okay,
First of all, I never met a nicer bunch of people at an outing like this. Everyone came with a great attitude about meeting others and just having a simple nice time together. I drove from Westchester at 7:15 am and it was still drizzling...consistent with the last six days of rain. But lo and behold, thirty minutes before we set off for the drive, the sun came out and we had a breezy, partly sunny day for the outing. You can see from the pics.
We had many Z8's, M5's, M3's, Z4's, a new M roadster, a Lambo VT, a Corvette, and a beautiful Viper. Great spirit and great fun.
Jedigras posted a link to pics on the M5 board. I will try to repost it here. I love the pic of the 'fresh oil and gravel' sign. I was driving the 'sweep' position and as I came around the bend to find a long line of very slow cars, I said "What the &^%#?!?" I was happy that that surprise lasted only 1/4 mile!
No accidents, no tickets, only one minor 'conflict' with a, what was that white car...Evo? Lancer? I don't know.
Thanks to Gustav for the complimentary M5BOARD.COM decals and thanks to all of you for showing up and having a good time.
Oh, and most of all, thanks to KenZ8 for taking such great care of the restaurant arrangements in their entirety. Man, was I glad to have nothing to do with that responsibility!
    Best Regards to All,

    Fabulous day!

I have to echo Dave's sentiments- the day was picture perfect with the nicest people, fun cars, & beautiful scenery. I have a few more photos to add to the Jedigras link- Andrew, can you post them all directly on this thread without the link? If you do, I'll let you know which photo reveals our beloved Bill Stuart!

    Yes indeed,

if you want to highlight some of the moments just send me the links, or file names, and I'll pull them off, and repost them here with the appropriate text.
